A: Call one of the Funds’ DME Vendors. With a doctor’s order for the DME, they will deliver the equipment or supplies directly to your door. In some places, the DME Vendors have stores where you can shop.

You can also order your medical supplies like gauze pads, feeding tubes, and ostomy supplies from the Funds’ DME Vendor. The Funds recommends that you use the DME Vendor for all your DME and supply needs.

Make sure that the DME item your doctor orders is an item covered by the Funds. It is a good idea to call the Funds’ Call Center (1-800-291-1425) before ordering or purchasing an item, including items ordered while in a nursing home. The Funds will only pay for DME purchased from the approved DME Vendor. Before paying any bills for equipment or supplies, please call the Call Center.

You can get diabetic supplies like syringes, lancets, and blood glucose monitors from one of the Funds’ DME Vendors.

Only the lift mechanism part of the lift chair is covered. The remainder of the chair cost is your responsibility. Scooters may be covered if medically necessary and authorized by the Funds.

A doctor’s order and authorization by the Funds are required for oxygen equipment. Contact one of the Funds’ DME Vendors and they will deliver the equipment to you.
