- How the UMWA Funds' Information for Medical Providers Web Site Was Developed
- The site was developed using Microsoft Office products (Word 97 and Internet Explorer 5.5) and Adobe Acrobat 5. Many of the pages are HTML pages; others are Microsoft Word documents. To view the Word documents, you must have Microsoft Word or Microsoft Word Viewer installed on your computer. Some documents are in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. Microsoft Word Viewer and Internet Explorer are available free from Microsoft (see links below). Adobe Acrobat Reader is available free from Adobe (see links below). We encourage the use of Microsoft Internet Explorer browser to view the web site because other browsers may not display the web pages or documents correctly.

- How To Navigate The UMWA Funds' Information for Medical Providers Web Site
- To use the Navigation Bar at the left, just click on the topic. To return to the Funds' Home Page, click on the last item on the Navigation Bar.
- When you go to a page that is a Microsoft Word document, the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser will open the page in the browser window using Microsoft Word or Microsoft Word Viewer. If you have Microsoft Word 97 or later, you do not need the Microsoft Word Viewer. Use the "Back" button in your browser to return to the previous web page. Some of the benefit plan documents may be in Microsoft Word format.
- When you go to a page that is an Adobe Acrobat PDF document, the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser will open the page in the browser window using your Adobe Acrobat Reader. Use the "Back" button in your browser to return to the previous web page. Some of the benefit plan documents may be in Adobe Acrobat PDF format.
- Finding a Word or Term (searching) in a Document
- When you are viewing a document, you can use the Ctrl + F shortcut keys to open a Find dialog box and locate specific words or phrases in the document. Adobe Acrobat Reader has a binocular tool on the Acrobat Reader toolbar which will open a Find dialog box. Once you have used the binocular Find tool, the Find Again tool will become available. Using these tools, you can step your way through a document to locate specific words or terms. Remember to use the "Back" button to return to the previous web page.
- How to Print a Page or Document
- You can print any page or document that you are viewing.
- While viewing an HTML page or Word document in your Microsoft Internet Explorer browser, click File > Print on the menu bar to display a Print dialog box. You can print all pages, the current page, or a series of pages.
- While viewing a PDF document using Adobe Acrobat Reader in your Microsoft Internet Explorer browser, click the Print icon on the Acrobat Reader tool bar and proceed with the Print dialog box. You can print all pages, the current page, or a series of pages.
